FlowMag Magnetic Scale Control for Automotive Manufacturing and General Industry
Automotive manufacturing is one of MHD Magnets' most established FlowMag application areas — and for good reason. Automotive plants run multiple water-intensive process circuits in parallel: cooling water for stamping, welding, and casting; phosphate pretreatment makeup water; paint line process water; degreasing rinse water. Each circuit develops scale that degrades equipment, blocks nozzles, and increases utility cost.
The before-and-after photographic documentation MHD provides from automotive industry installations — at 3 months and 7 months post-installation — shows progressive scale dissolution from established deposits. This visual evidence is one of the strongest validations of FlowMag's corrective action capability.
Automotive and industrial applications
Cooling water circuits. Stamping press cooling, welding equipment cooling, casting machine cooling, induction heating cooling — all develop scale that reduces equipment cooling capacity and forces production slowdowns during summer peak load.
Phosphate pretreatment makeup water. Scale in phosphate pretreatment lines plates onto rinse spray nozzles and bath heater tubes. FlowMag on the makeup water prevents this build-up — extending nozzle service intervals and maintaining heater efficiency.
Paint line process water. E-coat post-rinse water, paint shop scrubber water, and paint line cooling water all benefit from scale control without the chemical contamination risk that antiscalant additives introduce.
- —Most established MHD application area: Automotive plants across Europe, North America, and Asia have operated FlowMag systems for over a decade — extensive documented case histories available
- —Phosphate line nozzle protection: Scale-related nozzle blockage is one of the most common phosphate pretreatment quality defects — FlowMag eliminates the root cause
- —General industry applicability: Heat treatment quench water, chemical dosing line scale control, boiler feed pre-treatment — any industrial water circuit subject to scale

Still running media filters that consume rolls every few hours in grinding?
K Factor's 30-day free trial is available for magnetic separation systems. We assess your ferrous particle loading, fluid type, flow rate, and downstream filtration system. We commission the appropriate GT-MAG, PAC-MAG, or K-MAG inline in your circuit. You run it for 30 days and measure the reduction in media consumption, coolant clarity, and tool life. If the results don't justify the investment, return the system. No invoice. No commitment.
Available to qualifying facilities in the United States, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other markets.
